Baba Deep Singh ji was born into a Jat Sikh family in 1682 in the district of Amritsar. His father's name was Bhagto Singh Sandhu from the village of Pahuwind. The Sandhu clan was a prominent Sikh family in Pahuwind.


Bhai Bala (Sandhu Jat) - the first follower and constant companion of Guru Nanak (1st Guru of Sikhism) and one of the most revered and sacred saints in Sikhism.

Jat Sikh , also known by the more conventional  endonym   Jatt Sikh , ( Punjabi : ਜੱਟ ਸਿੱਖ) is a sub-group of the  Jat people  and the  Sikh   ethnoreligious  group, from the  Indian subcontinent .
